Artist’s Note: Digitographed along the public trail in the John Muir National Forest (hence, the spelling of the titles is a pun, not a typographical error) during a family vacation. “Muirals” (”Muiral”, “Muiral in Autumn”, and “Murial, Painted”) is one of the first version sets I released, in celebration of the launching of the synthaetica.com website. The base digitograph lent itself quite well to manipulation, and there may well be other versions to follow. The three versions presented here represent the general flexibility of the primary filtering software that I have used to date for versioning (Nik Software’s Color Efex Pro. 2.0) and their inclusion here at the outset of this website’s release indicates my basic inability to let this image stand alone, as it was digitographed with these two particular versions in mind at the time. Yes, I really do think that way when I’m shooting, and in this case, those creative visions were strong enough that I was able to address them even after some four years. |
