Artist’s Note: Shooting clouds with my low-contrast methodology can be tricky. There is a lot of inherent grain due to atmospherics, and the potential for burning out the sensor is an ever-present danger. This was yet another digitograph captured during that waiting period when we moved out here to South Dakota. I have a specific method for predominating portions of clouds in these types of photographs, which involves the masked overlay of a black-and-white layer, hence this color image being included in the black-and-white category. This is another way of performing complex contrasting. The skies on this particular day were simply phenominal, and I feel blessed to have been able to spend the time capturing them.
